Wild About Wales
Guided Mountain Walking

About Us Mission Statement
Peter Cooper.

Wild About Wales is headed up by Peter Cooper, a qualified International and Winter Mountain Leader. Pete's love of the outdoors began when he walked the Pennine Way at the age of 15. He currently operates a year round programme of activities in the UK that include kayaking, canoeing, gorge walking, rock climbing, abseiling, winter mountain skills, team building and bushcraft. He has guided groups in Africa, Nepal, the Alps and North America.

Our objective is to provide you with safe, rewarding, quality walking and/or scrambling in the mountains and valleys of North Wales. We strive to provide cultural, and historical background to the tours you take with us and to offer our knowledge of the natural history of the region. We hope that a day spent with us will leave you feeling relaxed; rejuvinated; excited; thrilled; and perhaps just pleasantly tired!

We are fully insured to provide the activities we offer and our guides all hold qualifications under nationally and internationally recognised schemes - which include first aid training. They are experienced friendly people who have a depth of knowledge of the area and a real passion for what they do. We also carry an AALA licence (Adventure Activity Licencing Authority - part of the HSE). This means that we are recognised as providers of adventure activities to people under the age of 18.

We wholly support the notion that the up-keep of wilderness areas in the British Isles should be given the highest priority; summed up in the phrase "take nothing but photographs; leave nothing but footprints" We actively respect our precious National Park and the environment in Snowdonia.

We also provide for:
Navigation training
Campcraft training
Pre-expedition training
Winter skills training
Charity event Management
Schools and colleges
Duke of Edinburgh
Jane.

Jane Cooper has walked and climbed on mountains in Britain, Europe, South America and Antarctica. The mother of 3 small children Jane acts as the hub of communications for all Wild About Wales activities. She oversees the implementation of safety protocols and the administration of courses and tours. If you call Wild about Wales she is the person you are likely to be talking to!

Danuska.

A highly accomplished alpinist, Danuska Rycurz has experience of many of the major European "big" routes - including the North face of the Eiger. She is a qualified Winter Mountain leader and operates in the UK and overseas throughout the year. In Snowdonia she teaches rock climbing and guides walking groups for Wild About Wales. We are hoping she will lead an excursion to the Tatra mountains in her native Poland next year.
